Earlene Birdsong

Virginia Earlene Birdsong, a beloved homemaker and mother, passed away on February 12, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on June 7, 1946, in Hot Springs, Virginia was the daughter of Earl Boyd and Dorothy Boyd-Irwin. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family.

Virginia's proudest accomplishment in life was being a mother to her son Johnny Sales. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support were fundamental in shaping his character. Virginia cherished her role as a mother and embraced every opportunity to create an environment filled with love and laughter.

In addition to her dedication to her family, Virginia had numerous hobbies and interests that brought her joy throughout her life. She had an avid passion for flea markets and collecting antiques, particularly Santa Clause memorabilia, and always seeking unique and hidden treasures that held stories from the past. An active member of the Cutter Morning Star school alumni and Morning Star Cemetery community, she invested her spare time into creating beautiful floral arrangements for the people around her for many years, and ensuring the Morning Star cemetery upkeep and preservation. Virginia's commitment to honoring those who came before her was truly admirable.

Another aspect of Virginia's life that brought immense happiness to both herself and those around her was her talent in the kitchen. Her culinary skills were unparalleled, delighting family and friends with every meal she prepared. Whether it was a holiday feast or a simple gathering, Virginia's dishes showcased her creativity and love for those she cooked for.

Virginia is survived by her son Johnny Sales and his wife Jennifer Sales; Her adored grandchildren Alex Sales and his wife Charlene Sales, Ashleigh Sales, Keva Woods; four great grandchildren, Bentley Sales, Jace Fox-Sales, Bryir Fox-Sales, and Quinn Fox-Sales will forever remember their grandmother's love and guidance. Virginia's canine companions, Sam and then Wrangler, were her faithful companions who provided her with comfort and happiness.

A graveside service to honor Virginia's life will be held on February 21, 2024, with Bro. Joe Thompson officiating, starting at 10:00 AM at the Cutter Morningstar Cemetery in Hot Springs National Park.
