Virginia Mae Carter, 83, passed away April 13, 2026, at Conway Regional Medical Center.

She was born October 2, 1943, to Hulon and Clara Carter, both of whom preceded her in death. Her brothers, Eugene Carter (Louise) and Jimmy (Linda) Carter, along with her sisters Glenda (Robert) Bevill and Connie (Gilbert) Davis also preceded her in death. Her sister-in-law Louise (Don) Clements, Linda Carter and brother-in-law Gilbert Davis survive.

Virginia spent most of her career as a librarian and teacher. She graduated from the Arkansas School for the Deaf in 1963 and graduated from Gallaudet University, Washington, DC. She loved to travel visiting nearly every U.S. state and has been overseas often traveling from Russia to Spain.

She is survived by 12 nieces and nephews spread up and down the I-55 corridor and numerous great nieces and nephews.

A brief service and luncheon will be held in early June. Virginia chose to donate her body to science for use at the University of Arkansas Medical School.

The family would like to thank Stonebridge Senior Living, Conway, where Virginia enjoyed her time living there and the staff at Conway Regional Hospital.
