Virginia Collins

Virginia Gail Collins, 70, of Scott, Arkansas; born to Lois and Ellis Martin on March 6th, 1955 gained her heavenly wings on May 5th, 2025.

A kind and caring wife, mother, and grandma, who loved all unconditionally, Virginia- known affectionately as “Pug” to many- was also a beloved sister, aunt, and friend to many. She was always there for anyone who needed it, the definition of a life well loved and lived.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lois and Ellis Martin; brothers, Dub, Billy, Carl, Jim, and Ellis Jr Martin; sisters, Lareva(Curly) Moody and Margaret Beard; her husband, the love of her life and the life of her love, Daniel Thomas Collins; and the light of her world, her daughter, Michelle Collins Thomas.

However, through all of this loss, she was never alone.

She is survived by her pride and joy, her son, Steven Collins; brothers, Danny(Kathy) and Mike(Kathy) Martin; brother-in-law Mike(Karen) Collins; daughter-in-law, Nicole Collins; and son-in-law, Barrett Thomas. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Also by many more family and friends, some of whom became more like sisters, especially Kathy Tyson and Betty Sullivan, two who were always by her side.

But, to be honest she would be most proud to be survived by those, in her own words, “who kept her going when she felt like giving up”, her grandkids; Kinslee Thomas, Cody(Monica), Ty(Jonah,) Noah, DJ, Abigail, and Nolanne Collins.

To know Virginia was to know unconditional love and a zero tolerance policy for hate. Aunt Pug was the first one to be by your side whenever you needed it, and the first one to call you out when you were wrong. To know Nana was to know that you always had someone in your corner, but just don’t ever steal her last Coke. There will never be another person on this earth like Virgina Gail Collins.

From the Grandkids: We love you, Nana. Tell Papa and Shell Shell (Mom) we miss and love them, and please give them a big hug from us all.
