Virginia Louise Ertel, 88, of Sherwood passed from this life on October 4, 2011. Mrs. Ertel was born on February 7, 1923 in Fort Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Groves and Louise Huldamarie Groves.
Virginia enjoyed singing in the choir at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was an avid supporter of the Pulaski County Humane Society and the Sherwood Police Department.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frances J Ertel and one brother Dean Groves.
Mrs. Ertel is survived by 1 sister, Mary Lewis of California; 2 daughters; Julia Hodges of Houston, Texas, Linda Strawn of Little Rock, Arkansas; 3 granddaughters, Lori Hodges of Houston, Texas, Cassandra Strawn of Little Rock, Arkansas and Ginger Henson of Bryant, Arkansas; and 3 great-grandchildren, Cooper, Olivia and Addison Henson, all of Bryant, Arkansas.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pulaski County Humane Society.
