Virginia O'Neal Gardner

Virginia O’Neal Gardner, 98, passed away on May 27, 2024.  She was born October 13, 1925, to Earl and Grace O’Neal in Hope, Arkansas. She had a bachelor’s in biology, and a teacher certificate from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville   She was very interested in education; served on the University of Arkansas College of Education Dean’s Advisory Council.

She is survived by her son, John Gardner (Chotsie Adney); her grandchildren, Allison Wilson, Zach Wilson (Bailey), Kathryn Allen (Ben), Laura Turner (Lance), and John Gardner IV (Angela); and great-grandchildren, Samuel and James Allen, Elizabeth Turner, John Gardner V, and Everly “Evie” Wilson.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John B. Gardner Jr.; her daughter, Virginia Gardner; her sister, Dorothy O'Neal Robins; and her brother, Jerry O'Neal.

A memorial service will be held at the St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Hope, Arkansas on June 15 at 2:00 PM.
