VIRGINIA STRACK HALL was called to be with her family in heaven on May 4, 2026. Virginia was born in Little Rock on November 7, 1928, to Louis J. and Julia Byrne Strack.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; her husband John Wesley Hall, Jr.; grandson Calvin Nunley, Jr.; her siblings, Andrew, Richard, Mildred Krauskop, Lou, Clotine Estrada, Charlotte Harkless, and Ira; brothers-in law Vincent Estrada, Gordon Harkless; sisters-in law Virginia Constantine Strack, Leona Strack, Alline Strack and Mary Lee Strack.
She is survived by her six children: Janet (Don) Borchert, Carolyn (Danny) Henry, Patricia (Calvin) Nunley, all of Hot Springs, John (Theresa) Hall III, Elaine (Steve) Lienhart, and Kenneth (Ron Wallace) Hall, all of Little Rock; twelve grandchildren: Don (Janice) Borchert Jr., David (Teresa) Borchert, Daniel (Ashley) Henry, Melissa (Ryan) Fisher, Jonathon (Katie) Nunley, Callie (Jon) Whitlock, Genna (Colton) Nunley, Jessica (Brandon) Haubert, John (Erin) Hall IV, Luke Hall, Rebecca (Stewart) Warner, and Brit (Tiana) Warfield of Honolulu, HI; Virginia had twenty six great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews too numerous to count.
Virginia was a proud graduate and humble Salutatorian of Conway’s St. Joseph High School class of 1946. She retired from Democrat Printing and Litho in 1990.
Virginia’s greatest happiness was in the company of her family. She took immense joy in cooking for her large crew, gathering everyone together to share good food and laughter whether playing spades, poker, or the crazy fun Strack family games.
Virginia cherished every moment of family get-togethers and watching her children and grandchildren at play—swimming, baseball, volleyball, dancing, potato sack races, kickball, or enjoying croquet in the backyard. One of her most beloved traditions was preparing Easter baskets for the family scavenger hunts in her beautiful backyard, a celebration that reflected her generous and joyful spirit. Virginia also possessed an effortless wit that sometimes left those around her wondering if she was joking. She always was.
At every gathering, everyone eagerly anticipated her famous chocolate cake with homemade chocolate icing, Italian Cream Cakes made lovingly from scratch which were treasured by friends and family alike and will be fondly remembered as part of her warm and giving legacy.
Virginia was a steadfast member of St. Edward Catholic Church for 76 years, a member of the St. Edward Christian Mother's Sodality, the Perpetual Rosary, and a past member of the Catholic Business Women's Club. For many years Virginia was dedicated to a weekly hour of adoration, followed by volunteering in the church office.
The family would like to recognize Theresa Carmichael for the loving care provided to Virginia over the past three years.
The honor of serving as Pallbearers is given to the “Outlaws”: Don, Danny, Calvin, Theresa, Ron and Steve.
There will be a viewing on Friday, May 8, from 12 noon – 4:00 p.m. at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street in North Little Rock.
The Rosary will be prayed on Sunday, May 10 at 4:30 p.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church followed by a celebration of her life in the Parish Hall. The funeral will be Monday, May 11 at St. Edward Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Virginia loved to do for others a virtue rooted deeply in her faith. In her later years, she often wished she could still bake a cake or prepare a pot of beans for her grands. In her honor, share a kind word, extend a friendly gesture, or offer a good deed to others.
In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to St. Edward Catholic Church or St. Edward Christian Mother Sodality.
