Virginia Elaine Chronister Wright, 90, of North Little Rock was reunited with her beloved Orville at Heaven's gate on Thursday, July 5, 2012. She was born on September 8, 1921 in Russellville, Arkansas to W.H. Chronister and Minnie Ruth Barnett Chronister.
Elaine met the love of her life, Orville H. Wright in 1939 and they were married on September 21, 1940. She was a member of Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church and the Wesley Sunday School class for 72 years. She and Orville were co-owners of Chronister and Wright Model Market for 35 years and retired in 1980.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Dewey Chronister, sister, Louise Chronister Little and Orville Wright, her husband of 69 years. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Hughes (Terry); and she will always be "Nana" to her three grandchildren, Jason Donham (Karen), Amanda Harden (Ty) and Keith Hughes (Alicia); seven great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Joe Wright; sister-in-law, Billie Layne and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Arkansas Hospice in St. Vincent's Infirmary.
Memorials may be made to Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church, 1723 Schaer St., North Little Rock, Arkansas 72114.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday at Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Edgewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
