W. E. (Willie) Gunter, age 80, of Hickory Plains, Arkansas, was born November 24, 1927 to P. V. and Thelma Hamric Gunter and died August 30, 2008. He was a life long resident of Hickory Plains, and a U S Navy Veteran of WWII, a Veteran of the Bikini Island Atomic Bomb Testing, a member of the Beebe VFW, and retired from Binswanger Glass Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Johnny Gunter of Hickory Plains. He is survived by two daughters, Gail Hunt and husband Mike of Madison, Wisconsin, Karen Daugherty and husband Jim of Sherwood; one son, Don P. Gunter of Cabot; grandchildren, Carrie Glover and husband Jason of Cabot, Amy Velazquez and husband Tony of Sherwood, Sarah Hunt, Madison, Wisconsin, Brian Gunter and wife Nancy of Cotter, Arkansas, Blake Gunter of Cabot; one great grandchild, two sisters; Hazel Quick and husband Jimmy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Marie Bertrand of Jonesboro and a brother L. P. Gunter and wife Edna of Hickory Plains and several nieces and nephews
