Wanda Jean (Fisher) Barron passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025. She was born March 11, 1927, in Beebe to W. A. (Bill) Fisher and Ola Fisher. She graduated from Beebe High School in 1945 and worked for the Office of Price Administration (OPA) in Little Rock until the end of WWII, then as secretary for Cash Wholesale/Sterling Stores, then North Little Rock Water Department. She and Sonny enjoyed fishing, traveling, and camping. They visited every U.S. State and provinces of Canada. She enjoyed her flowers, collecting, sewing, and always had a project in progress as long as she was able.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Beebe. Wanda was thankful to the Lord for being born and living in the years she did, in the South, where you were taught reading, writing, arithmetic, etc. in good schools, along with manners and respect; and had good home-grown food. She never expected a front seat in Heaven, just any old spot would do.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; husband S. L. (Sonny) Barron; sister Pat Hefner, brother Billy Ray, Bobby Joe and Ricky Fisher.
She is survived by her daughter Pamela Ann Benton and husband Ray of Lonoke, and several and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be begin at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2025, followed by funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W. Dewitt Henry Dr., Beebe. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
