Wanda Beierle

Wanda Wallen Beierle, 82, of Norman, AR, passed away Saturday morning, September 23, 2023
surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 28, 1940, in Cleburne, TX, to Alford and
Emmie Dee Wallen.

Wanda grew up outside the small town of Keene, TX, with her parents and older sister, Alfreda. It
was clear from a young age that Wanda preferred to be outside much more than inside.
Keeping her in clean clothes was a struggle for her parents from the time she could walk, not
because she didn’t have clean clothes, mind you, but as soon as she was all dressed up and
had the chance she would be playing in the dirt. She was her daddy's sidekick and loved to ride
with him any chance she got. She had plenty of chances to ride shotgun and open all the gates
as he would drive from farm to farm drilling wells for a living. She always loved animals and
people, so it is no surprise that she decided to become a nurse. She graduated from union
college in Denver, CO, in 1961 with her nursing degree. She was married to Ed Beierle on
October 13th, 1963. By the mid sixties, she and her husband, whom she referred to as “Teddy
Bear”, headed to Peru to be Missionaries. Her working as a nurse, and him a pilot, they made
what one would call the best dream team there has ever been. They had their first son, Edward
Beierle Jr, while still in Peru on February 20th, 1967. Their second son, Ray Beierle was born
on July 27th, 1968. After they left Peru, they would spend some time in Texas before the family
would move to Arkansas in 1980. Here in Norman, AR, the family built a home, shop, and a
garden. Wanda’s love for playing in the dirt would not end at a young age, but carry through the
rest of her life. She could grow anything. She had every kind of vegetable you could think of, but
it didn’t stop there. She grew all kinds of berry bushes and fruit trees. The grandkids would come
over and pick as many blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries as they wanted. Their fingers
and mouths would be blue, but she never cared how many they ate. She would just say it would
help them grow up strong. She also had flower beds everywhere over the property that were
second to none. She was an active member of her local church, and the master gardening club.
She was always cheerful, upbeat, and had a song in her heart. She was a loving wife, mother,
and grandmother.

Wanda is survived by her husband of 59 years, Edward Beierle (Teddy Bear), their two sons
Edward Beierle Jr, and Ray Beierle, daughter-in-laws Dana Beierle, Crystal Beierle, and
Tammie Dalrymple, sister and brother in law Alfreda and Jake Knight, grandchildren Edward III
and Ashley Beierle, Heidi Beierle, Levi and Taylor Beierle, Justin and Easten Beierle, Holly and
Seth Arnold, Mattie East, and Kinsley East, and great grandchildren Adalynn Beierle, and Lillian Beierle.

We will always love you nanna and hold you close in our hearts, until we see you again someday.
