Wanda Mae Garrett Knight, born May 9, 1934, left this earth on July 1, 2019 to be welcomed into the arms of God.  Wanda was the daughter of Millard and Lavaughn Hunter Garrett. She graduated from Kirby High School in 1952. She married her true love and love of her life, Richard Knight on January 17, 1953. They were married for sixty-six years with each one of them taking their vows of loving and cherishing each other seriously. Their marriage was an inspiration to family and friends.  God blessed Richard and Wanda with two daughters, three grandchildren and eleven great children.

She was a homemaker, who worked at various locations including Oberman’s, Hollywood Vasserette, and she loved helping clients make selections of quality clothing and jewelry while working at Fashion Corner and Collier’s Jewelry Store.

Surviving her are husband, Richard Knight, daughters Dr. Lynne Knight Dardenne and husband Ray Dardenne of Point Cedar, AR, Debbie Knight Harrington and husband Clifton Wood Harrington III of Benton; grandson Matthew Richard Dardenne and wife Ashli of Kerman, CA., Laura Harrington Westbrook and husband Jess and Amy Harrington Ford and husband Clay both of Benton. Great grandchildren are Michael, Madilyn, Seth, Evelyn and Brooklyn Dardenne, Kase, Kyle and Kate Westbrook and Campbell, Henry and Major Ford.  Wanda was the oldest of seven children. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Carl Garrett and Bobby Carol Garrett. She is survived by sisters Leatha Bishop and husband Billy, Barbara Wofford, Betty Rogers and husband Carroll, and Phyllis Halstead. She is blessed to also have a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Wanda loved the Lord and was faithful in service to Him. She loved her family, friends, and her home and was happiest when she was preparing a meal and hosting those she loved in her home. She was a loving mother and loved being a Granny and Great Granny.

She was active in the Arkadelphia Order of the Eastern Star where she made many lasting friendships. She served as Grand Chaplain for Arkansas in 1996 and had the privilege of traveling throughout Arkansas meeting new people and making new friends.

She was of the Assembly of God faith and attended First Assembly of God Church in Arkadelphia.

A visitation will be held at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home at 1:00 pm Wednesday, July 3, 2019.

A celebration of her life will be held at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home  at 2:00 pm July 3, 2019.

Interment will be Rest Haven Memorial Gardens

The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Dorman, Baptist Hospice, and the staff of nurses and doctors at Baptist Hospital, Arkadelphia and Elite Home Health for the loving care and kindness shown to our mom and wife during this difficult time.
