Wanda Faye Tozer

Mrs. Wanda Faye Tozer, 83, of McRae, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.  Wanda passed away at her home in McRae where she lived most of her life.  She was born on November 24, 1939, to Tilley Millner Todd and James Todd in Huron, Tennessee.  They moved to McRae when Wanda was two, and Wanda lived there the rest of her life.

When she was 18 years old, Wanda married the love of her life, Chester A. Tozer, in 1957.  They were married 66 years and raised five daughters and one son.  A lifelong homemaker, Wanda loved her family deeply and always looked forward to family gatherings.  She enjoyed holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas, and worked to make every occasion special for her loved ones.  She also enjoyed antiquing, collecting glassware, shopping, getting her hair styled and her nails manicured, and tending to her yard.  She especially loved flowers.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Tilley and James Todd, her sisters, Marie Cook and Louise Lyles and her grandson, Kyle Ward.

She is survived by her husband, Chester A. Tozer of McRae; her children, Patricia Ward (Donny) of Quitman; Peggy Price (George) of Garner; Martha Scott (Brian) of Beebe; Rita Armstrong (Mark) of McRae; Lori Ivie (Mike) of Bradford; Mark Tozer (Klansee) of North Little Rock; and Becky Hambidge of McRae.  Wanda leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren.  She loved them all, and every baby was “Granny’s baby.”

Wanda loved the Lord with all her heart, and it showed in her generosity to others.  She welcomed everyone with open arms and a hot meal.  Her favorite Bible verse was -

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Wanda’s family celebrates her earthly life well-lived and the beginning of her eternal life with Christ.
