Warren Edward Garrett Sr. age 86 of Arkadelphia died Thursday, April 4, 2013. He was born December 15, 1926 in Friendship, AR the son of Charles W. and Tessie Mae Baxter Garrett. He was a retired automobile salesman, a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, and a member of the Bismarck Pentecostal Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife Constance "Connie" Lee Garrett, three sons, Warren Edward Garrett Jr. of Friendship, Greg Daniel Garrett and wife Naomi of Lakewood, CA, and Larry McBride of Indiana, one daughter Julia Garrett Hammons of Arkadelphia, five grandchildren, Ryan Daniel (Ragina) Garrett, Blake Andrew Garrett, Britany Danielle Garrett, Garrett Matthew (Rebecca) Hammons, Jessika Ray Hammons, and one great granddaughter, Payton Leigh Hammons, two sisters, his twin Julia Benavides and Dorothy Smith both of Friendship.
Graveside funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, April 11 in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Friendship under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia with Brother Van Glidewell officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery C/O Paul Crow, 301 Nix Lp., Donaldson, AR 71941 or Bismarck Pentecostal Church Building Fund C/O Van Glidewell, 3401 Malvern Rd., Hot Springs, AR 71901.
