Wesley Eugene Wimberly was born August 24, 1946. At the age of 66, after a lenghtly illness due to Diabetes and its complications, he died September 28, 2012.
Wesley attended Little Rock Public Schools and was a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. As a student at UALR, he was Associate Editor of The Forum, a member of the baseball team, and a charter member of Phi Kappa Alpha Men's Fraternity. He was a Baptist, a former member of the Arkansas National Guard and retired after thirty years of employment as a State government employee.
Wesley's favorite outdoor activity was duck hunting. His happiest hours were spent in a boat or a duck blind on Mill Bayou with a friend hoping for a good hunt. Arkansas County was his second home.
Wesley was preceded in death by his father, George E. Wimberly who died on February 5, 2012. He is survived by his mother, Coy Robertson Wimberly; son, Blake Wimberly; and brother, John Wimberly. Other survivors are an Aunt, Ruth Robertson and her son, Patrick Robertson and his wife, Jill and their sons, Patton and Crain; uncle, Charles Wimberly and wife; cousins, Jim, Larry, Gary and Rick Wimberly, Peggy Reyher and Cherry White.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday October 2, 2012 at Pinecrest Memorial Park, Alexander, AR with Dr. Bob Dunaway officiating.
