William H. "Bill" Brown, Jr., 79, of Alexander, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2026.

Born on June 11, 1947, to William H. "Bill" Brown, Sr. and Kathryn Anna Helmbeck Brown, Bill lived a life of faith, honor, service, and devotion to his family. A 1965 graduate of Sylvan Hills High School, he dedicated 40 years to the United States Army, retiring as Chief Warrant Officer 5 (CW5), the highest warrant officer rank in the Army. He was respected throughout his career for his leadership, dedication, and commitment to duty.

Bill proudly served as the Shop Officer in Charge of the 39th Support Battalion’s Direct Support Maintenance Facility during Operation Iraqi Freedom at Camp Taji, Iraq, from 2004 to 2005. For his exceptional leadership and honorable service, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. His career reflected a lifetime of courage, dedication, and selfless service to his country.

Outside of his military career, Bill enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He cherished time spent with family and friends and will be remembered for his quiet strength, kindness, generosity, and willingness to lend a helping hand. He was a devoted husband, proud father, loyal friend, and faithful servant of God.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William H. "Bill" Brown, Sr. and Kathryn Anna Helmbeck Brown; his beloved wife of 46 years, Mary F. Brown; and his brother, Gary "Duke" Brown.

He is survived by his loving son, Christopher "Satch" Brown and his wife, Amy Brown; his brother, Mark Brown; his nephew, Jason "Blue" Brown; his nieces, Ashley Brown and Nancy Brown; and his devoted companion, Regina Chambers, who was by his side in his later years. He also leaves behind extended family members, lifelong friends, fellow veterans, and all who were blessed to know him.

Bill’s legacy is one of faith, love, and faithful service. Whether serving his country in uniform, spending time outdoors, or sharing moments with those he loved, he lived with integrity and purpose. He will be deeply missed, but his memory and the example he set will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
