William Henry “Bill” Darby, 93, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on April 14, 2026.Born on January 12, 1933, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Bill was the son of William Henry Darby and Ruby Lee Ellison Darby.He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and spent more than 60 years working as a residential contractor, a career through which he became well known for his hard work, dedication, and skill. One of the projects he was especially proud of was his work on the Agape Church of Little Rock, bringing honor to Christ in his work. Bill was a longtime member of First NLR in North Little Rock. He enjoyed reading, building, and spending time with his family. He especially loved visiting Arizona and the views out west, all things oil field related, hot air balloons, Elvis Presley, Dallas Cowboys football, and watching westerns. Bill was also an owner of The Arkansas Stars football team which was part of the Mid-American professional football league.He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Polly and Peggy; and his nephews, Terry Johnson and Michael Johnson.Bill is survived by his wife, Vickie Darby; his son, Chris Darby (Sharry) of Fort Worth, Texas; his grandchildren, Elijah Darby and Caiden Darby, both of Little Rock; his niece, Alese Davis (Brian) of Mountain Home; and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. Bill will be remembered for his strong work ethic, love for his family, and the many lives he touched through both his work and his kindness.
