William Edgar Dickerson

William Edgar Dickerson, of Benton, passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 85. He was born on March 19, 1941, in Murfreesboro, Arkansas, to Roy and Rosie Dickerson; he was their 8th child.

He grew up in Gurdon and Waldron, and later lived in Glenwood, Hot Springs, and Sheridan. He walked or rode his bike everywhere and was well known in Glenwood for cutting many yards.

He never married but was loved by many nieces and nephews. Survivors include his brother, Lee (Margaret) Dickerson of Stonewall, Louisiana; and a special nephew, Gene Dickerson.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Smith Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., in Benton, with a graveside service following at 2:00 p.m. the same day, at Pinecrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 7401 Hwy 5 N., in Alexander.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in William’s name can be made to The Humane Society of Saline County.
