Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005 at 2:00 PM in Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel for William Alexander Gordon, age 77, who was called home on Monday Nov. 28, 2005 in 4:00 AM.
Interment will be at Richland Cemetery in the community of Central, west of Arkadelphia. Rev. Robert Richardson of Lafayette, LA will officiate at the funeral services.
Survivors include his beloved wife, the former Cora Mae Bell of Arkadelphia, AR; two daughters, Alisa Vincent and her husband, Bobby; Alexi Hoffpauir and her husband, Donald; four grandchildren Ryan Vincent, Amber Hatley, Alana and Ashley Hoffpauir; one great-grandchild, Josie Hatley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Alice Mae Fletcher Gordon; and his brothers, Carroll Dean, Fletcher and Roy Gordon.
William was born on June 9, 1928 in Arkadelphia, AR, where he grew up the eldest of four brothers. After high school in Arkadelphia, he served in the Arkansas National Guard for several years. He moved to Lafayette, LA where he worked as a general manager of A-1 Moving and Storage Company of Lafayette, for forty-one years, up until six weeks before his death. He was a member of the Northside Baptist Church Community, where he served as Deacon. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
