William Howard Haynes, Jr.

William “Bill” Howard Haynes, Jr., 74, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away September 6, 2024. He was born April 10, 1950 in Stamford, Texas to the late William H. Haynes, Sr. and Amilee Haynes. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Joy (Dorsey) Haynes; sons, Scott (Holly) Haynes, Matthew Haynes, and Nathan Haynes; grandchildren, Ashlyn, Ava, and Aristos; and a sister; along with a host of family and friends. 

Bill retired from the United States Army. He spent time in security for Baptist Hospital and then went on to work for the Little Rock Police Department as a traffic safety officer. After retiring, Bill was able to spend more time pursuing his love of studying history. 

Visitation will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Smith Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107) with a service following at 11:30 AM. Burial will be at 1:00 PM at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery (1501 W Maryland Ave., North Little Rock).
