William “Lee” Jones, 100, of Little Rock, Arkansas, entered the Heavenly presence of the Almighty on December 11, 2025, surrounded by the family who loved him so deeply.
Born on June 13, 1925, in Cedar Glades, Arkansas, Lee lived a long, faithful, and honorable life. A modest World War II veteran of the United States Army, he carried with humility the honor of his service throughout the rest of his days.
Lee was a steadfast husband to his late wife, Ruth, and an attentive father to his late son, Monte, and his surviving son, David and wife Jennifer. He was “Papaw” to his grandchildren — Courtney Hall and Amber Jones Barrier, and Chase Thornton and Tabatha Roy. His love lives on through his 17 great-grandchildren, many of whom considered him to be a real life superhero.
A man of unwavering faith, Lee served as a deacon for more than 60 years and was a charter member of Capitol City Free Will Baptist Church. He was known for his solid integrity, his gentle nature, and his immeasurable love for Jesus Christ. To those who knew him, Lee was the most honorable, humble, and God-fearing man they had ever met.
Lee’s life was a testament to selflessness, faithfulness, and quiet strength. His family and friends will forever cherish the unparalleled legacy he leaves behind.
A Celebration of Lee's life will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel- Glenwood.
