William “Bill” McElduff, 84, of Maumelle, went home to be with the Lord on August 19, 2021 with his family at his side. Born in Helena, Arkansas to the late Kenneth and Elizabeth Thomas McElduff, he was a devoted member of Maumelle First Baptist Church and a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Helena, where he faithfully served in both churches as Deacon, Sunday School teacher and choir member. He served his country in the army.
Bill served his community in Helena as an insurance agent at Helena Insurance, and always shared a smile and compassion for others. He loved sharing his faith and studying and teaching God’s Word. Bill was an avid sports fan. He loved baseball, especially the Yankees, and Razorback football, and enjoyed cheering on all his grandchildren at their games. If you were up at sunrise, you would see Bill running in his neighborhood or on the track. Living a healthy lifestyle was his passion, and he was doing push-ups and arm curls the last week of his life from his hospital bed.
Learning new things came naturally to Bill, and he taught himself to play piano and guitar and to speak Spanish. He loved watching John Wayne movies and playing Big Band music. Family vacations were special to him, especially trips to Los Angeles. Bill left a legacy of love for God, family and others and will be so missed.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Victoria Lueken McElduff; children, Kathy Johnson (Mark), Nancy Robbins (John) and Joe McElduff (Mary); grandchildren, Luke Johnson (Glory), Will and Kent Johnson, Callie and John Robbins, Tori Burchfield (Tyler), Hanna Harman (Zach), and Caleb McElduff; great-grandchildren, Taysom Burchfield and Isaac Johnson; and other family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 25 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct., followed by burial at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at 11:00. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
