William Turner Mitchell, 84, of Cabot, Arkansas, passed away on March 24, 2026. He was born on October 3, 1941, in Carlisle, Arkansas, to Blanche Burns and Turner Mitchell.

William worked as a butcher at Knights Grocery of Cabot and Kroger for many years until his retirement. He was also self employed as a deer processor. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion and Woodmen Life Fraternity, Chapter 5 of North Little Rock.

William was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Jimmy and Miles Mitchell and grandson Michael Aaron Fahey. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Susie Mitchell; his three children, Michelle Fahey (Shawn) of Cabot, Brenda Graff of Conway, and Tommy Mitchell (Kelly) of Cabot; and his eight grandchildren, Patrick Fahey, Olivia Fahey (Mason Smith), Mia Brady (Zachary), Madeline Jordan (Kollin), Reagan Graff, Blake Mitchell, Brayden Mitchell, and Brooklyn Mitchell.

He is also survived by his siblings, Clara Harlan (Junior), Carla Barnwell (Charles), Vernon Mitchell (Linda), Jerald Mitchell (Pam), and Ronald Mitchell (Lori); and his sister-in-law, Carol Mitchell.

William enjoyed horseback riding, deer hunting, fishing, and camping, and he cherished the time he spent with family and friends.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Crestview Senior Living and LifeTouch Health of Searcy for their compassionate care.

A visitation will be held Sunday, March 29, 2026 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, AR. A funeral service will be held Monday, March 30, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, AR. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arkansas Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of your choice.
