William T. “Buddy” Phillips, Jr., born to W.T. Phillips and Maudie Ward Phillips on October 5, 1936, passed from this life on April 19, 2026. Preceded in death by his parents; siblings Guy Phillips, Carroll Phillips, Lorene Hensley, and CW Ward; sons David Phillips and Steven Phillips. Survived by his wife of 68 years, Jo Horsey Phillips; son William T. "Tommy" Phillips III (Kerri); grandsons Chase Phillips (Katie), Colton Phillips, Cameron Phillips; granddaughter Calais Pierce (Tyler); and several nieces and nephews. The family expresses special appreciation to Buddy’s nephew Manuel (Tommy) Phillips.

Buddy, a lifetime resident of Arkansas, began as an auto technician in England and Little Rock before spending 34 years with Matson Construction as a mechanic and purchasing agent, known for his strong work ethic and determination.

Buddy Phillips served as Past President of Arkansas Square Dance Association and as Past Master of Albert Pike Lodge #714. He was a 33rd degree Mason with Scottish Rite temple, recently receiving 50-year pins from both Albert Pike and Scottish Rite.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, followed by funeral services beginning at 1:00 PM at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205.
