William Piper

William James "Bill" Piper, 83, of North Little Rock passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013. He was born May 8, 1929 in Crabtree, Arkansas to the late George A. and Maudie Mae Autry Piper. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Senior Staff Sergeant and the U.S. Post Office as a Mail Handler. He was a world traveler while in the Army Air Corp, then the U. S. Air Force and he was a graduate of Clinton High School.
He is survived by two sons, Dan Piper, of Little Rock and William Jakob Piper, of Germany; daughter, Irene Piper Cross, of Little Rock; sister, Helen Williams, of Copan, Oklahoma; brother, "Johnny" John Piper, of San Francisco, California; his honorary daughter, Leeta Elliott and her husband, David of North Little Rock; grandchildren, Lindsie, Logan and Leanna Ellis and Hannah, Sarah, Jonathan, Rebekah and Rachel Elliott and a special companion, Jean Piper Sibert. He was preceded in death by his sister, Eunice Harvey.
A Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday at First Pentecostal Church in North Little Rock. Arrangements by North Little Rock Funeral Home, a Smith Family Funeral Home. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com.
