William Warren Prather, a beloved figure in both his family and community, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, just a day after celebrating his 72nd birthday. He was born on December 26, 1953, in Dallas, Texas, and spent his life dedicated to his family, friends, and his career at the Fort Worth Butane Gas Company, Inc., known affectionately as The Grill Shoppe.

Graduating from Haltom High School in Haltom City, Texas, Warren began his work at The Grill Shoppe at the young age of 16. His commitment to the family business lasted until his retirement in 2023, showcasing a loyalty and dedication that was recognized in industry magazines for his retail efforts. Warren's work was not merely a job; it was a testament to his passion for service, as he enjoyed helping others and fostering relationships within the community.

A larger-than-life personality, Warren had a remarkable talent for storytelling and humor, often delighting those around him with jokes that he knew they wouldn’t appreciate. His kind-hearted nature, compassion towards others, and love of animals endeared him to all who had the privilege to know him. He was a devoted father, husband, and friend, always ready to lend a helping hand or listen with a caring heart.

Warren found joy in various interests, particularly fishing, water sports, and playing the piano at piano bars with friends. Moments spent deep-sea fishing and enjoying time on the water exemplified his zest for life and adventure, while his love for music further underscored his vibrant spirit.

He is survived by his loving wife, Candice Prather; daughters, Melissa Hayden (Russell) and Stephanie Green; granddaughter, Evelyn Green; grandsons, Patrick Parish, Holden Hayden (Karissa), and Levi Hayden; great-grandchildren, Delilah and Hazel Hayden; sister, Sharon Tow; nieces, Tabitha Burns (Daniel) and Jennifer Haring (David); great-niece, Mina, and great-nephew, Max; and uncle, Ron McCoy (Cynthia), along with a host of cousins and friends.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents, William “Ed” and Estelle Prather, and his uncle, Doyle McCoy (Shirley). He leaves behind a profound legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will continue to inspire the countless lives he touched throughout his journey. His memory will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
