William David Tucker, 86 of Searcy passed from this life on June 12, 2025, at Cabot, Arkansas. He was born on born on March 24, 1939, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Thurman and Ruth (Jackson) Tucker.

Bill grew up in Little Rock and attended Little Rock Central High School. After high school he worked with his father doing commercial painting on government housing in the mid-west. He spent the majority of his career working as a painting contractor in the Searcy/White County area. To most folks working in construction around Searcy he was known as “Shorty” and if you were looking for him around mealtime, then you better head to Gerald’s BBQ.

When his boys were young the Tucker family settled in Step Rock, AR and there he taught his sons the joys of hunting and fishing. He was an avid sports fan, but his favorite sport was baseball, and he spent many hours cheering for his boys on the field. He loved Arkansas Razorbacks sports, but his favorite team was the Atlanta Braves.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Rex Tucker and two sisters, Betty Burkhalter and Ruth Ann Bush. He is survived by his children Billy (Tonya) Tucker of Beebe, David Tucker of Searcy, Charlie (Kelly) Tucker of Providence, and Reggie Tucker of Ward. Grandchildren Katrina (Brian) Mills, Laura (Austin) Tucker of Beebe, Lance Tucker of Searcy, Amy (Danny) Cuellar, Katy (Ethan) Hall of Providence and 15 great-grandchildren. One sister Peggy (James) Taylor of Beebe along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2025, followed by funeral service at 2:00 p.m., at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W. Dewitt Henry Dr., Beebe, Arkansas. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. www.smithfamilycares.com
