William "Bill" Couch

William “Bill” H. Couch, 80, of Benton died Thursday, October 7. He was born to Hubert and Anna Pearl Couch and grew up in the Salem community. He was a graduate of Bryant High School and attended the University of Arkansas. He worked more 30 years in the rail and truck freight industry. Bill was a generous man who believed in family.  He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.  Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Martha Givens.  He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Janice; sons:  Martin of Franklin, Tennessee; Kevin Couch and his wife Charlotte of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; grandchildren Casey, Carter and Claire; two brothers, Guy Couch and Thurman Couch; four sisters, Patricia Laster, Carolyn Hoggard and husband Lynn, Barbara Stefan and husband Rob, and Beverly Villines and husband Buddy; and a host of family and friends who love Bill and will miss him always.  Services will be held at Benton First Assembly of God on Monday, October 11th at 11:00am.  Arrangements entrusted to Smith-Benton Funeral Home.  Online guestbook:  www.SmithFamilyCares.com.
