Willis Callaway

Willis Theodore (Ted) Callaway, 80, of Little Rock passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018. He was born in Lake Village, AR on December 2, 1937 to Martha Cone Callaway and Willis T. Callaway. He was raised in Wilmot, graduated from high school where he was president of his class and active in sports and activities.

He attended ASTC (now University of Central Arkansas). At UCA, Ted was a member of Phi Sigma Epsilon and was president of the honorary leadership organization. After graduating with a degree in business, he joined the Army Reserve and did his basic training at Fort Knox, KY. He married his college sweetheart, Bette Wright, and they lived in Little Rock for 58 years.

He was with the Small Business Administration for 37 years and retired as Deputy District Director. Ted was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church and then for 35 years was active at Fellowship Bible Church where he served in several ministry roles.

He loved the Razorbacks and followed them faithfully. After retirement, he was a volunteer at UAMS and the Prison Ministry at Hidden Creek.

He is survived by his wife, Bette of Little Rock; son, Dr. Michael (Cecilia) Callaway of Fort Smith; daughter, Kay (David) Michael of Little Rock; six grandchildren, Andrew Callaway and Amy (Neil) Carpenter of Kansas City, Matthew Callaway of Fort Smith, Jacob Michael of Murfreesboro, TN, Willis Callaway and Sarah Michael of Little Rock; half-sister, Rosemary Stafford of Deer Park, TX; niece, Ashley Harris and his beloved dog, Bo. He is predeceased by his parents, step-father, Richard Bradshaw and sister, Pat Anderson.

Memorials may be made to Honduras Missions World Gospel Outreach, 6068 US Hwy 98W, Ste. #1, Box 250, Hattiesburg, MS 39402 or to Fellowship Bible Church.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on September 5th at Fellowship Bible Church, 1401 Kirk Rd., Little Rock AR 72223.
