Wilma Ruth Carson, age 76, of Ft. Smith, formerly of Sparkman, died August 14, 2007, at a Little Rock Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, T. Q. "Kit" Carson, her parents, Velma Alston and W. R. "Snap" Alston.
A native of Ozark, she is survived by a daughter Pam and her husband Talmadge Smith of Ft. Smith, a son Terry Q. Carson and wife Janie of Ft. Smith, a brother Wallace D. "Sonny" Alston of Ozark, and a sister Melba Mershon of Ft. Smith, a granddaughter Brooke Ramsey and husband Robert of Cabot, grandson Tab Smith of Hot Springs, step-grandson Travis Collyar and wife Casey, and step-great grand-daughter Jordyn Collyar of Alma.
Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Thursday, August 16, 2007 in the First Baptist Church of Sparkman under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia. There will be viewing at the funeral home Wednesday evening 6-8 P.M.
