Winnie D. Simpson Fischer, 98, of Little Rock, passed away December 17, 2018. She was born September 6, 1920 to Perry and Marie Hvizdalek Simpson in Corning, Arkansas and grew up in Little Rock with her identical twin sister, Caroline Sheddy and her older sisters, Marguerite Flake and Louise Graves, who have all predeceased her, along with her loving husband, Harold Fischer.
Winnie graduated from Little Rock High School (Central) in 1938 and from Little Rock Junior College (UALR). She retired from the Arkansas Education Association after 24 years of service.
She is survived by three daughters, Susan Mauney (Jim) and Nancy Weaver, both of Little Rock, and Jane Johnson (Richard) of Savannah, Georgia, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Winnie was the last living charter member of Westover Hills Presbyterian Church, to which memorials may be made in her honor.
Interment will be private at Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock. A memorial service will be held at a later date this spring.
