Zella Brooks

Zella Mae Brooks, 80, of Little Rock/Fayetteville, Arkansas passed away January 10, 2013. Born in Beebe, Arkansas August 9, 1932 to Earl C. and Mona Faye Kirk, she was a graduate of Beebe High School, and worked many years with her husband as owners of Pete Brooks Carpet in Little Rock.
She moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas in 2002 to be near family and moved to Culpepper Assisted Living in July 2011, where she made many friends and enjoyed being a greeter for new residents and staff.
She was a special mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all and enjoyed gardening, fishing at "The Boonies", and casino time with her family.
Zella was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Pete Brooks; her sisters, Atrude Kirk, Ruby Wilburn, Helen Milam, Hope Carter; brothers, Herman, Arthur, Ralph and Bill Kirk; and sister-in-law Betty Thomas.
She is survived by her loving family, Debbie Brooks of Fayetteville, Pam and Dan Tubbs of Sherwood, Wayne and Sheri Brooks of Goshen; and her beloved grandchildren Jeremy Black, Joshua Tubbs, Andrea Morgan and Pete and Luci Brooks; and extended family, Jean and Charles Hutchins, Ione and Dub Diemer, Delores and Junior Krisell, Judy and Gary Martin, Donald and Marilyn Brooks, Lola Kirk Hickman and Earl and Norma Kirk, and many nieces, nephews.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Sweet Home, with Rev. Tommy Miller officiating. A special memorial service will be given at Culpepper Assisted Living, Fayetteville, on Saturday, January 19, at 2:00 p.m.
