Adeline Davis

Adeline Davis, 90, of North Little Rock, Arkansas passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021, in North Little Rock. Mrs. Davis was born October 21, 1930, in Oil Trough, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Thomas Jay Fuller and Edna Elizabeth Fuller. On October 30, 1948, Adeline married Dwight Arnold Davis, the love of her life. She was a homemaker and secretary for the family business, Davis Business Machines. Mrs. Davis was a Christian, and a member of Pike Avenue Baptist and then Baring Cross Baptist Church in North Little Rock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Arnold Davis; sisters, Ruby Lovitt and Maxine Flowers; brothers, George Fuller, Loyd T.J. Fuller, Glynn Fuller and Gary Fuller.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her two sons, Terry Dwight Davis (Judy) of Fort Smith, and John Michael Davis (Kathy) of North Little Rock; sister, Bobbye Faulkner of Newport; brother, Lynn Fuller (Shirley) of Oil Trough; four grandchildren, Terri Vaughn (Corey) of Greenwood, Austin Davis of Hot Springs, Shelley Burris (Adam) of Bentonville and Kathryn Smith (Zac) of Russellville. Other survivors include six great grandchildren, Taylor Vaughn, Sawyer Vaughn, Harrison Vaughn, Adeline Davis, Henry Burris, Jack Burris; sister-in-law, Peggy Fuller; special friends, Kittie McMullin, and Fran Lacy; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Davis was known for truth telling and her witty personality. She would never sugar coat any matter and would speak her mind with a frankness that was many times uncomfortable for those who were around her; especially the one on the receiving end! She was most proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to talk about them and show off pictures whenever she could.

Adeline could strike up a conversation with anyone she encountered from the grocery store to the doctor’s office with ease.  As she began to encounter health issues in her later years, she would always mention that she still lived in her home of many years and took care of everything except vacuuming the floors. Living to 90 is no easy task but mom had a few helpful tips for all of us: eat Cheetos daily, have some sweet onion with every meal and lastly drink a Dr. Pepper mixed with water. While she loved her home here, she longed to be reunited in a new home, an everlasting one in heaven with Dwight and her many friends and family who have gone before her.
