Alan Buckels

August 7, 1957 — December 18, 2020

Alan Buckels

Alan Eugene Buckels came into this world on August 7, 1957 and lived a life one could be proud of. His presence was a blessing and his absence is felt deeply by those who love and know him. After an agonizing four months of being missing, search for our beloved ended in the tragic news that he had passed away unexpectedly and without explanation on December 18, 2020.

Alan was a diehard Razorback fan, go hogs! He was a loyal supporter of different charities. He had the system of life down pat. It seemed everything he did was always done just right, he was one of the most responsible people I’ve ever known. He sure knew how to set the hook on a catfish too, and have some damn good fish fries. We had some of the best cookouts all together. Although it was just him and his son that lived together, he would cook for an army. Especially his chili - luckily I have the recipe. He was one of the hardest workers and his clients asked for him by name. Everybody loved him.  He will be forever remembered, always loved and sorely missed.

He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Zella Schuller Buckels; father, Alvin Buckels; and brothers, Patrick and Kenneth Buckels. He is survived by his only son, Alan Buckels, Jr., who he loves so dearly and devoted his whole life to.

He is also survived by his sisters, Sharon Chadwick (Phillip) of Little Rock and Brenda Smith (Ken) of Alexander; brothers, Paul Buckels (Kathy) of California, Michael Buckels of Bryant; two granddaughters, Georgia and Tessa Castle; and a slew of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of his Life will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Forest Hills Cemetery, 10200 Highway 5 N, Alexander.  Online guestbook at www.smithfamilycares.com.
