Alice Frances Roller

April 23, 1938 — November 18, 2019

Alice Frances Roller

Alice Frances Griffin Roller was born at the Davis Hospital in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.  She was the first-born child of JR and Geraldine Griffin.  Her brother, Jerry, and sister, Nancy, soon followed to complete their family.  When Frances was five years old, their mother died from medical complications. Their father soon left for California where he died a few years later from pneumonia.  Frances and her siblings were taken in and raised by their mother’s sister and her husband, Hazel and Keller Lilly.

After graduating from Carlisle High School, she moved to Little Rock, Arkansas to attend Draughon’s School of Business.  While working at Jones Truck Line, she met Bud.  They married in 1958.  Together they had five children.  In 1971, they moved the family to Beebe, Arkansas.  Frances waited to begin her career at the Beebe Jr. High School the same year Kelly began first grade.  She enjoyed her role as the Jr. High School secretary until retiring in 1999.

During her 24 years of service to the Beebe Public Schools, she worked under several different principals and “lectured and loved” many, many Jr. High students.  Her retirement activities included traveling to as many grandchildren’s events as she could.  Granny was always the #1 fan!  When at home, Frances could be found working right alongside of Bud in the garden, attending to her many flower beds or quilting something special.

Frances was a faithful Christian her entire life.  Growing up attending the Carlisle Baptist Church, she became a member of the Church of Christ after meeting and marrying Bud. Her children and grandchildren could not have had a better Christian example of faithful attendance and a Christ-like example to follow.

Alice Frances Griffin Roller, from Beebe, Arkansas, born April 23, 1938 went to be with the Lord on November 18, 2019.

She is survived by her stepson, Stephen Scott Roller; son, Arthur Allen “Rube” Roller III (Phyllis); daughters Polly Ann DuLaney (Dannie), Kerri Lynn Glaude (Jerry), Kelly Sue Woods (Charles); step-grandchildren, Rhiannnon Kelley and Scott Roller; grandchildren, Nikki Manek, Brandi Holliman (Chris), Randi DuLaney, Jaymie McAfee (Rodgers), Kallen Roller, Roger Glaude (Andrea), Barney Jay Roller II, Griffin Glaude (Talor), Garrett Woods, Jettie Woods; step-great grandchildren, Nevaeh and Staten Kelley, Eden and Anthony Roller; great grandchildren, Cade, Delanie and Chris Benton, Paxton and Maggie Porter, Amelia Jude McAfee, Lyla Glaude, Lynnleigh Glaude; one sister, Nancy Kittler, and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Pattin and Su Plunkett.
