Alphonso Emmanuel Reid, Jr., 26, passed away June 12, 2019. He is survived by his parents, Alphonso Reid, Sr. and Cynthia Yates, and Dave and Jackie Mundie of Bryant; and sisters, Antavia, Tamela, Alsandria and Charity.
Alphonso was a lover of music and played his guitar growing up. He enjoyed country, gospel, the Beach Boys and had experimented with rap music. He was a dedicated worker in the food service industry and was currently employed at Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers in Benton.
During his teens he was active in the youth group at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church. He had a strong faith in God and would often go to sleep at night listening to scripture tapes and be heard quoting scripture by his family. Alphonso had a great smile. It was contagious and would light up the room when he walked into it. He could keep his family laughing with his crazy impersonations and had a great sense of humor. To know him was to love him.
Sometimes angels leave us suddenly when their work is done. Though this may be a sudden and unexpected change, their presence of love and light is left behind with us to be a reminder to love more and give more. Alphonso was this angel to many. He will always be deeply treasured and remembered in our hearts.
Services will be Monday, June 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), (501)224-2200. Memorials may be made to Women's Own Worth (www.womensownworth.com). Alphonso's online guestbook may be signed at www.littlerockfuneralhome.com.
