Aubrey Boydston, Jr.

Aubrey Eugene “Gene” Boydston, Jr., 69, of Sherwood passed away on June 26, 2021. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on March 17, 1952 to the late Aubrey E. and Nell Sue Boydston of North Little Rock.

Gene gave his life to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at a young age. His faith and trust in the Lord were the foundation upon which he built his life. Gene was a lifelong member of Baring Cross Baptist Church.

He graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1970 and graduated from the University of Central Arkansas in 1975 with a double major in Business Management and Accounting. After graduating from college, Gene worked for Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield for approximately 35 years as an accountant in the Provider Audit Department.

Gene loved to travel to Europe and Great Britain. He cherished the many trips he made abroad with his cousins, Wayne and Lynda Boydston. He enjoyed following the Razorbacks and going to Oaklawn Park with his buddy, Donnie Cook, to watch the horses run.

Gene was preceded in death by his sister Marsha Boydston Grisham.

He is survived by his nieces Sarah Grisham of Little Rock, Arkansas and Rebeckah LaFollette and husband Stuart, of Austin, Texas; nephew, Lyle Grisham of North Little Rock; and one great niece Zoe Rose. Other survivors include a host of extended family and dear friends.

The family would like to give a special thank you to all of the care givers of Home Instead, especially Crystal and ReShonda. Their compassion and thoughtfulness will never be forgotten.

Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, with burial at Edgewood Memorial Park.
