Betty Baker

May 20, 1921 — July 30, 2020

Betty Baker

Betty Sue Baker, 99, of Little Rock earned her well-deserved angel wings on Thursday, July 30, 2020. She was born Friday, May 20, 1921 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late H.K and Lila Dalton Thatcher. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Gerard “Jerry” Baker; children, Katherine Baker and Richard Baker; brothers H.K. Thatcher II and Jean Dalton Thatcher.

After 99 years of caring for her 11 children, parents and countless friends, it is now her time to rejoice with those that have gone before her!  Anyone that has had the pleasure to know Betty Sue knows that she had a wicked sense of humor and did not mince words. She said what she thought and meant what she said.

Mother was an amazingly faithful Catholic. She had a very strong faith and was happy to share it with everyone. She taught us by example to care for the sick and elderly by taking care of fellow parishioners, friends and extended family members.

She was completely committed to her children and was a mother to many, many others. Everyone who entered our house was accepted and loved as one of her own.

We will all miss Mother but are grateful knowing she is at peace and watching down on us.

Go Cardinals!
