Billy Brumbelow
Billy N. Brumbelow, 84, of Little Rock, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020. He was born in Traskwood to Curtis and Johnnie Walker Brumbelow. Graduating in 1953 from Benton High School, he served in the Air National Guard before attending Little Rock Junior College and Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway (now UCA), where he was a member of Phi Sigma Epsilon Fraternity.
Following college, he worked for McKesson Wholesale Drug Company where he was recognized as the Top Salesman for two consecutive years. In 1970, Billy was appointed by State Farm Insurance, and during his 43 years with State Farm, he served three years on the Central Arkansas Life Underwriters Association Board. With the help of his staff, he qualified for numerous State Farm awards, including the Millionaire's Club for 12 years, Select Agent and the Legion of Honor.
Billy was involved and active with his community and served among many charitable and service organizations. He was a charter member of the West Little Rock Optimist Club, where he served as its 5th President, earning an award for Distinguished President due to his leadership. He has been active in the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce and has served as Co-Chairman of the Ambassador Club. He was a Gideon, a 32nd Degree Mason, Pulaski Heights Lodge 673, a member of the Arkansas Consistory and the Scimitar Shrine Temple. He was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he served as a Greeter/Usher for many years.
Billy is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Faye Brumbelow; daughters, Kristi Mann (Travis), Holly Crockett (Michael) and Lorie Scott (Brian); sister, Phyllis Harp (Phillip); grandchildren, Tanner Mann, Tyler Mann, Tucker Mann, Aubrey Crockett, Michael Crockett, Jr., Dillon Kimes, Bailey Kimes and Savanna Scott; nephew, Bradley Harp; and a host of other family and friends.
Billy was a fun loving man, always jolly and joking. He was a devoted family man, very involved with his grandchildren and loved attending their events. The family would like to give a special thank you to Elmcroft at Maumelle for their nurturing love and care.
Services will be held on Monday, February 3 at 1:00 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church. Interment will be private.
