Billy Powell

Billy D. Powell, 86, of Benton, Arkansas passed away November 15, 2021. Billy was born December 7, 1934 to the late Homer and Lee (Earl) Powell.

Bill served in the Army and National Guard at Fort Polk, TX for eight years then returned to Benton. Once he returned he began working at Jones Mill before starting his own upholstery business until his health declined. Bill was self-employed over 50 years. He loved being outdoors hunting and fishing. Bill always had the ideal garden.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Brownlee and Curtis Powell; sister, Frances; and stepson, Doug Grant. He lost the love of his life, Geneva Powell, October 23, 2019 after 54 years of marriage.

Bill is survived by daughter, Karen Powell; son, Benny Powell (Tammy); three step-children: Teresa (Ronald) Bagley, Barbara (Buster) Mosley, and Jerry (Tracey) Grant; five grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends that will miss him dearly.

Bill will be cremated and rest at Owensville Cemetery on Highway 5. There will be no services at this time. Memorials may be made to Owensville Cemetery.
