Billy Ray "Bubba" Ashley

Billy Ray “Bubba” Ashley, Jr., 44, of Alexander, Arkansas passed away May 14, 2021.  He was born February 20, 1977 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Jeanna (Thomas) Jenkins and Billy Ray Ashley, Sr.

Billy was a member of Christ Church on Vimy Ridge Road in Alexander, Arkansas.  He had a huge heart and could always be found smiling.  Billy’s family meant the world to him.  He was a hands-on uncle and enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews.  He especially enjoyed taking them hunting and fishing.   Billy loved spending time outdoors whether he was hunting, fishing, or driving his buggies and jeep around mudding.  Billy was a member of Unguided Arkansas – an avid hunters’ group, and A and P Hunting Club in Grapevine, Arkansas.  He was an amazing grill master.

Billy leaves behind to cherish his memory his father, Billy Ray Ashley, Sr. (Barbara Thompson) of Grapevine, Arkansas; mother, Jeanna Thomas Jenkins of Alexander, Arkansas; brother:  Wayne Hughes (Hollie) of Little Rock, Arkansas; sister Amanda Ashley of Little Rock, Arkansas; soul-mate, Monica Kendrick of Benton, Arkansas; grandparents, Jimmy and Ruthie Hughes of Mabelvale, Arkansas; nieces and nephews:  Madison Hughes, Aiden Hughes, Shilah Sugg, and Emrie Ashley; one great nephew expected to arrive in July; his Unguided Brotherhood; “second parents” James and Marva Huff; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends who love Billy and will miss him always.

Honorary pallbearers are Shilah Sugg, Madison Hughes, Aiden Hughes, Emrie Ashley, Cliff Allen, Brandy Harper, Eric Huff, Brandon Bassett; all the waitresses at Hooter’s West Little Rock; and all the Unguided Brotherhood.

Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Friday, May 21, 2021 with funeral service, officiated by Bro. George Yarberry, following at 11:00 AM, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Arkansas.
