Brenda McCumpsey

Brenda Kay McCumpsey, 66, of Bauxite, passed away July 2, 2020.  She was born July 13, 1953 in Little Rock to the late Carl and Bernice (Cox) Jackson.

Brenda was of the Baptist faith.  She was a great example to her family and friends and exemplified the art of always putting others first and helping them in any way.  She had the gift of offering unconditional love to all who knew her.  Brenda was a strong, tough lady who was a hard worker.  She drove a school bus for the Pulaski County School District and always provided special treats for her passengers on holidays.  During her free time, Brenda enjoyed spending time working in her garden, fishing, cooking, and being with her family.  Brenda loved everyone and everyone loved her back.

Preceding Brenda in death are her husband, Steve McCumpsey, Sr.; parents; and siblings:  Bill Cox, Alice Jackson, and Ricky Jackson.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children:  Steven McCumpsey, Jr. of Little Rock, John “Aaron” McCumpsey of Bauxite, Arkansas, and Amber Vega and her husband Evaristo of Benton, Arkansas; grandchildren:  Destiny McCumpsey, Aubrey McCumpsey, Kayla McCumpsey, Alex McCumpsey, Gabriel Vega, and Daniela Vega; sisters:  Sharon Winkler of Bauxite, Arkansas and Becky Lamb and her husband Garry of Cabot, Arkansas; brother, Billy Summerville; and many family members and friends who love Brenda and will miss her always.

Visitation held 5:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 8, Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street in Benton.  Funeral service, officiated by Bro. Gary Hobby and Bro. James Thurston, held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, at the funeral home.  Burial following at McPherson Cemetery in Sardis.
