Brendan Farrell

September 2, 1927 — December 31, 2019

Brendan Farrell

On Tuesday December 31st 2019, Brendan “Benny” Farrell, loving husband and father of four, passed away at the age of 92.

Benny was born September 2nd 1927 in Mullingar, Ireland to Elizabeth (Moran) and John Farrell. On January 8th 1951 he married the love of his life, Bridget “Della” Bruton. Together they raised son, Peter and daughters, Veronica and Stella in the United Kingdom, before emigrating to the U.S.

Brendan was proud of being born and raised in Ireland and of becoming a naturalized US citizen. His deepest passions were his faith in God, his wife, and his family. Benny was a constant father and grandfather.  He had an open heart and a kind, generous presence. He always put the well being of others before himself, and tirelessly provided a place of refuge in the storm for his loved ones. He was a gifted carpenter, and a talented gardener.  He loved all animals and they loved him back; a true animal whisperer. He had a unique and magical sense of humor and shone a bright light of love around everyone he met.

The most extraordinary thing that can be said of his life is that there are only good things to be said.

His love was unconditional, boundless and eternal.

Benny was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Della and infant daughter Eilish. He is survived by his three children, Peter (Shelley), Veronica (David), Stella and his grandchildren, Kristen (Corine), Laura, Aidan, Ethan and step-grandchildren, Alex and Michael, who all loved him dearly.
