Carolyn Sue Cia, of Little Rock, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018. She was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma February 14, 1943 where she spent her early childhood before moving to Sherwood, Arkansas. She graduated from Sylvan Hills High School and moved to Little Rock where she worked at several jobs, including assistant manager at the Golden Host cafeteria.
She spent several years as a wife, homemaker and mother before returning to work at the job she was born for, operating the Holy Souls School Cafeteria.
For the next 20 years, she cooked and cared for the children of Holy Souls School. And she loved it most days. The compliments she received from both children and parents always made her day and she always got an extra helping of praise when she served her special double chocolate cake.
She liked to fish and after retirement she got to spend more time doing that, along with an occasional trip to the casino to play Wheel of Fortune. More importantly, it let her spend more time with her grandchildren who she loved with a love that only a grandparent can understand.
She was preceded in death by parents, Orville and Dorothea Mobley, brothers, Richard and David Mobley and granddaughter, Emily Armstrong. She is survived by spouse, James Cia of Little Rock; children, Angela Dunaway and husband, Sharpe, of Conway, Amanda Armstrong and husband, Jerry, of North Little Rock, and Michael Cia of Mayflower; brother, Terry Mobley and wife, Kay, of Sherwood and sister, Shelby Barker and husband, Larry, of Jacksonville Texas; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Mobley of Dardanelle; grandchildren, Kyle, Wesley and Zachery Armstrong, and Quint, Grace and London Dunaway; many cousins, nephews, nieces, other family members, and cherished friends. She will be missed by all.
Visitation will be at Little Rock Funeral Home, Thursday, September 13 at 6 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Holy Souls Church, Friday, September 14 at 10:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Jerry, Kyle, Wesley and Zachery Armstrong and Sharpe and Quint Dunaway. In lieu of flowers, a memorial to the Helping Hand of Little Rock is suggested.
