Carolyn Polk

Carolyn Lee (Warmouth) Polk passed away March 4, 2021.  Carolyn was born February 15, 1942 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Roger Bryant Warmouth and Dorothy Lee (Witt) Warmouth.  She graduated from Hall High School and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and later obtained her Master’s Degree in Education.  She was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority (recently receiving her 50-year pin) and Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.  She was a teacher and later administrator in the Pulaski County Special School District and worked tirelessly in her profession until retiring from her final post as an Assistant Principal at Sylvan Hills Elementary.

Carolyn was a voracious reader and lover of animals.  She would often read multiple books in a day and always had a cat or dog close by if not in her lap.  Carolyn’s most precious gift from God was her natural ability to be a caregiver.  Always willing to help family and friends in need, even taking them in to live with her – this is where her love knew no bounds.  In her spare time she loved being with her friends which included meeting monthly with the Hall High lunch group, the OLEOs and the Loose Pages Book Club.  She is a former member of First Christian Church and a member of Pulaski Heights Baptist Church.

Carolyn was predeceased by her parents and her brother, William Bryant (Buddy) Warmouth.  She is survived by her nieces, Julie Carolyn Wheat and Wendy Brandon; her nephew, Bryan Warmouth (Tiffany); her grand-nephews, Jackson Wheat (Danielle), Carson Wheat and Cross Brandon; and her sister-in-law, Julie Anne Warmouth.

A private graveside service will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas with Rev. Jim Munns officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pulaski Heights Baptist Church, Humane Society of Pulaski County or Little Rock Animal Village.
