Charles Adami

Charles Edward Adami died Saturday, February 13, 2021.  He was born June 13, 1934 in Carryville, Clay County, Arkansas to Charley Lexie Panel Adami and Maggie Lenore (Rawls) Adami who preceded him in death as well as his three brothers:  A.C., Deaun, and Dollies.  In 1978 Charles was a kidney donor for Dollies, who lived another six years.  They were the 25th kidney transplant in the old VA Hospital in Little Rock.  He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Donna (Shields) Adami; sons:  Michael Wayne and Julie (Baxter) and Tony Lynn and Sally (Giaimo); grandsons:  Brandon, Preston (wife Kelsie), and Spencer Edward Adami; granddaughter, Brittney (Jonathan) Pounders; great-grandchildren:  Hayden, Avery, and Lily Pounds and Parker Adami; two nephews; five nieces; and many family members and friends who love Charles and will miss him always.

Charles lived his entire life in Arkansas, in the counties of Clay, Pulaski, and Saline.  While in Piggott, he was employed by Rogers Produce, selling dressed poultry and eggs.  He moved to Little Rock in 1961 to attend Eaton Barber College.

Charles was owner/operator of Charles’ Style and Barber Shop in Bryant from 1973 to 2004, having barbered the previous twelve years in Little Rock-all totaled forty-three years.  He appreciated and enjoyed his many customers.  He received his Lifetime Barber License upon reaching the age of 80.

Charles enjoyed his woodworking shop and could duplicate items from a picture in a magazine.  His preference was oak wood.  He spent many hours constantly improving his yard.  He was a “fixer-upper” and filled the needs of all the family.  He wasn’t overly fond of traveling but did relent, especially when the grandkids were included. He loved his family very much and was quite protective.  He was an honest man, and a helpful man.

Charles was a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church.  He is a past Master of Westwood Masonic Lodge #353 in Little Rock, now affiliated with and Past Master of Alumina Lodge #574 in Bryant and was awarded the Pillar of Solomon Award.  He was twice Worthy Patron of Jennie B.
