Clara Harris

Clara Mae Brown Harris, 90, of Little Rock, AR went to be with her Lord on January 12, 2021. She was born September 13, 1930 to Roy Lee Sr. and Era Estelle Brown.  Clara loved to cook and was a bookkeeper.  She was also a professional seamstress, even creating each of her daughter’s wedding gowns. Clara cared deeply about each person she met.  She was a lifelong Baptist, and was a member of Janet Lane Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA.

Clara is survived by her daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Rills; sons, Chris Harris (Michelle) and Lowell Harris, Jr.; grandchildren, Michael Strickland (Karen), Jamison Ashley (Clint), Jason Dalrymple (Colleen) and Scott Dalrymple, Nikki and Trisha Harris, Braden Barkman, and Bailey Fremin; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Sue Hudgeons (Roland), and other extended family. Clara was loved by many. After she retired, she became a nanny, caring for nine children over the years, whom adored her.

Clara is preceded in death by her parents; her children, Cathy Dalrymple, Trisha Jackson, and Charlotte Strickland; and five siblings.

The family would like to thank Tammie Brown for her love and care over the past two years.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home.  Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service.  Service be live streamed on the Smith Little Rock Funeral Home facebook page, beginning fifteen minutes prior to.  Arrangements by Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Court, Little Rock, 501-224-2200.  Online guestbook at www.smithfamilycares.com.
