Cordelia "Corky" Zaloudek

Cordelia "Corky" Frances Zaloudek, 74, of Little Rock, passed away July 10, 2020.  She was born December 16, 1945 in Little Rock to the late Ellis Benjamin and Marjorie Jamison Cash.  Corky is survived by her husband, Tom Zaloudek; her son, David Binz,Jr. (Laura); and two daughters: Suzanne Woodall (David), and Diane Barbee (Steve).

Corky was a free spirit who thrived for the adrenaline rush of extreme sports.  She participated in marathon races, cycling, white water rafting, mountain bike racing, rock climbing, triathalons, swimming, and ultra (extreme long distance) running.  Combined with her love for action, Corky also was a gifted musician who majored in music while attending college. She had a kind and unselfish spirit who was prepared and willing to help anyone in need. Her many friends described her as a joy to be around. Corky was an active member of Holy Souls Church and, besides being in the Seniors Group, volunteered to help with many functions there like Mardi Gras, teacher get-togethers, and the Christmas party. These were a labor of love because she enjoyed serving and being with people.

Corky and her husband enjoyed trips from 2002 - 2013 with the Trail Hogs group. They did the Grand Canyon crossing twice, the 165-mile trek on the Tahoe Rim Trail spaced over six years, the Yosemite trails, the 22-mile journey in Bryce Canyon, and beautiful fall hikes in Smokey Mtn. National Park. Other favorite getaways were annual family camping trips around Arkansas and going on vacation to Vancouver, B. C., Bellingham, Wash. and the Great Northwest, Taos, New Mexico, and to Minnesota including Minneapolis, Duluth, and Lake Superior. Cycling trips included rails to trails like the Virginia Creeper and The Katy Trail in Missouri. Being a planner and detail oriented Corky liked planning and organizing these almost as much as actually going.

Corky worked as a registered sales assistant at Wells- Fargo until her retirement in 2011. The following years became challenging when she was afflicted by FTD - frontotemporal dementia and spent the last 4 and 1/2 years at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehab (now Encore at West Little Rock). She received outstanding care from the staff there and for the last 1 and 1/2 years from Kindred Hospice. A huge thank you and virtual hug to all the caretakers who assisted in her care.

Corky was dearly loved by all who knew her and will be missed always.
