David Rockenbach

David Francis Rockenbach, 76, of Ward, went to be with his lord and savior on Wednesday January 20, 2021. He was born on December 22, 1944 in Little Rock Arkansas. He is survived by his wife Edna Rockenbach; one sister Helen (Gaynor) Olson, stepchildren Rick (Trish) Partridge of Pelham Alabama, Glenn (Judy) Partridge of Cave City, Eddie (Earlene) Roberts of McRae, Martie (Kim) Roberts of Beebe, and Brinda (Ruben) Perez of Ward, stepson Steven Schewe of Ward; and many other loving family members (nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, great and step-great grandchildren).

He was preceded in death by his Parents Floyd (1994) and Grace (1977) Rockenbach, son Davey Rockenbach in 2007, Wife "Martha" in 2002 and Wife "Ida" in 2017.

David served in the 375th ASA (Army Security Agency) Company of the United States Army from 1968 to 1972, serving in the Vietnam War, and Indochina. Earning the Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars, Meritorious Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal Clasp, Bronze, 3 Loops Expert (Pistol, Rifle and 1st Class Gunner "M-79"). He was a member of VFW Post 7769.

He traveled and lived in Germany (1966-1968), Japan (1970-1973), Carlisle (1974-1991), mined for gold out west, ran a Pawn Shop in Batesville Arkansas, retired in Greenbrier then moved to McRae Arkansas.  He spent his retirement fishing, playing Bingo, traveling many winters to Yuma Arizona by the casinos, reading lots of books, and the rest of the time making everyone he was around happy, even his German Sheppard Scooter.

Visitation begins at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, with funeral service following at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.  State of Arkansas COVID-19 directives: Face coverings, social distancing.
