Dickie Garrett

Dickie Garrett, aged 68, joined our Heavenly Father, May 5, 2020 while in his home.  Dickie was a loving Husband, Father, Son, Brother, and Friend.  He was married for 48 wonderful years to his wife Debbie.  He would tell you he had the best wife and kids anyone could ask for and that his son in law Flint hung the moon. Dickie had 3 grand kids who gave him so much joy.

Dickie is now in God's arms with his parents Cecil Garrett and El Frieda Buck Garrett of Bismarck Arkansas

Dickie attended Bismarck High School and Henderson State University.

Dickie was a great golfer and won many awards including breaking the course record at DeGray Golf Course from the blue tees.

Dickie loved life so much and his favorite days of the year were Thanksgiving, the weekend of the Masters golf tournament, the Kentucky Derby and any weekend the Dallas Cowboys lost!

He served the community as president of Bismarck Booster Club and school board. He was peewee coach for many teams.

He was the voice of the Bismarck Lions for two decades as he called for a whole host of Lions on the play.

A true man of the community, he devoted much of his time helping neighbors.

A Razorback historian and lifelong Razorback fan and football season ticket holder.

He loved all animals and rescued over 400 dogs and had over 200 spade or neutered.

Dickie loved handicapping thoroughbreds and watching them race. His favorite horse was California Chrome.

Dickie found joy in every day and his joy came from God. He loved to tell you about his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. God was always at the top o his list. He prayed constantly and knew when his time came He would be ready to step Into Gods arms and gave him credit for all things and knew he was nothing without God.

Dickie is survived by his loving wife, Debbie, one son Chris Garrett, one daughter, Mandy King, son-in-law and friend, Flint King, two granddaughters Libbie Sunshine and Savannah Skye Garrett and their Mom Jennifer Black, one grandson Bradyn King, one brother, Billy Garrett(Lisa), and sisters, Suzanne Dater (Floyd), Bobbie Loy (Jackie), Lisa Hunt (Gary) and numerous nieces and nephews.
