Donna Gossett

August 18, 1947 — May 18, 2021

Donna Gossett

Donna L. Gossett stepped through this mortal veil and into the Heavenly realm on May 18, 2021.  She battled lung cancer for a time, but her heart grew tired. She died at home where she wanted to be among family and friends.

Donna’s friends and family knew her as “Yellow Rose”.  She was a Texan, born August 18, 1947 near Roxton, Texas and moved here to become a resident of Benton, Arkansas.  She never quite got over leaving Texas.  Donna loved motorcycles.  She rode many miles as a passenger and then got her own.  She traveled to South Dakota, Yellowstone, Las Vegas, Texas, New Orleans, Daytona Beach, Smoky Mountains, Washington D.C., the Outer Banks, and saw her odometer roll over 100,000 miles just east of Hot Springs, Arkansas on U.S. 70.  Donna was also a certified SCUBA diver and dove the Palancar Reef off Cozumel, Mexico.

Donna was a loving, fiercely loyal wife and mother.  She is survived by her husband of forty-two years, Tommy Gossett of Benton; son, Jerry Buck and wife Whitney of Mayflower, Arkansas; two daughters, Shawn Marie Rider and husband Danny of Cordova, Tennessee and Angela Taylor and husband Larry of Batesville, Mississippi; sisters-in-law:  Susan Ramsey of Longview, Texas and Kathy Ramsey of Valley View, Texas; eight grandchildren:  Venessa Griggers, Jerry Buck, John Theobald, Amanda Theobald, Kristen Woods, Matthew Kennedy, Keely Drew, and Andrew Childress; twelve great-grandchildren; one niece; one nephew; uncle, Tony Moore; and four aunts:  Marie, Joan, Velma and Mary Kay.  Donna was also fortunate to have many close friends.  Among them are Jewel Pitman of Texas, Teri Penland of Arkansas, Diana Tilford of Arkansas, Gynola Bratton, of Arkansas, Becky Langston of Mississippi, Nancy Nash of Texas, Kathy Jordan of Tennessee, and many others.

Preceding Donna in death are her father, L.J. Ramsey of Gainesville, Texas; mother, Geneva Hunt of Nocona, Texas; son, Bobby Lynn Buck of Nocona, Texas; brothers:  Bobby Ramsey of Valley View, Texas, Keith Ramsey of Longview, Texas; father-in-law, Jack Hunt of Nocona, Texas; one uncle; and three aunts:  Ruby, Von and Frankie.
